The Dorothy Dix photographic collection includes ninety-eight photographs with seventy-nine different poses. Each of the photographs has been scrutinized, inventoried, and arranged for inclusion in the research guide. There are seven sub headings to the photographic collection: Homes, Miss Dix, Travel, Family and Friends, Le Petit Salon, Tomb Stones, and Horses.

Of particular interests are the photographs of Miss Dix. They clearly depict her as one of a genteel southern lady coping successfully with social changes in her own life and urging others, particularly women, to follow suit and construct for themselves useful and productive lives. Titles scripted as in original article.
