The Amos Kennedy Art
exhibit showcases a variety of Kennedy’s
letterpress works that feature posters of quotes
by civil rights icon Rosa Parks, and sayings,
some of which can generate questions, raised
eyebrows or conversation. The letterpress
artist, now residing in Gordo, Alabama, refers
to himself as “a builder of books about Negro
culture”. The Amos Kennedy exhibit is brought to
the Woodward Library through the collaboration
of the African American Cultural Center and the
APSU department of Art.
