Reports directly to the Director of Library Services and is a member of the faculty, serving in the Department of Library Administration.  Leads the planning, implementation, and reporting of the assessment of Library programs, services, and collections, including student information literacy learning outcomes.  Works with the Library faculty and staff to use the results to improve library services, collections, and instruction.  Teaches in the information literacy instruction program; performs all aspects of traditional and electronic reference and research services.  Serves as a liaison to academic departments or programs.  Participates in library planning, goal setting, decision making, and the implementation of new programs.

Position Highlights: Coordinates assessment of library service quality using LibQUAL+ survey and follow up focus groups; coordinates assessment of freshman information literacy student outcomes; led a Team in developing a peer review of instruction rubric for formative and summative assessment; served as graduate academic program reviewer; used Characteristics of Programs of Information Literacy that Illustrate Best Practices and other appropriate ACRL Standards & Guidelines to develop a formalized Instructional Services Unit; led two Teams in planning, implementing, & assessing information literacy competencies in the new freshman experience course & in adapting LILT from SearchPath, Western Michigan’s adaptation of  TILT (University of Texas); designed assessment of freshman student evaluation skills; co-taught the piloted freshman experience course; developed and co-taught an online graduate Military History Research Methods course; co-developed & co-taught an online graduate Communications Multimedia Literacy course; designed & implemented an electronic library instruction classroom; developed the library instruction component for and team-taught the Researching, Writing, and Speaking across the Curriculum course.
