APSU has cooperative borrowing agreements with all Tennessee Board of
Regents and University of Tennessee libraries. To check out books in
person from one of those libraries, ask for a Universal Borrower's Card at
the APSU Circulation Desk BEFORE going to the other library. More
information on the use of the Card is available here.
The
full services of Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library are
available to Austin Peay Students with a student ID and local
address. See the CMCPL
web site for more information. APSU Faculty who are residents
of Montgomery County are eligible for a borrowing card. Those who
reside in other counties should apply for borrowing privileges at their
local public library.
Other public Libraries and private
universities have varying policies regarding use and check-out privileges.
APSU students and faculty should contact those libraries directly to check
on their access policies and fees before attempting to visit them.
Access to Vanderbilt University libraries
is restricted; however, most of the Vandy libraries are conducting a
pilot project which allows members of the public to enter the libraries
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Vanderbilt Libraries do not
allow members of the public to check books out from their
libraries. APSU students and faculty should call in advance to
confirm the current access policies of Vanderbilt
Libraries.
Students who want to access Vanderbilt Libraries during evenings and
weekends may contact
the APSU Library Information Desk for limited-use special access cards.
Special access
cards may be checked out for one week. Students and faculty are
accessed a $1.00 per day fine for cards not returned on time.
APSU faculty may obtain a Reading Privileges Card, which allows them
to enter Vanderbilt Libraries during all operating hours. To
obtain a Reading Privileges card, present your APSU faculty ID at the
circulation desk of the Central Library, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30
p.m. There is a one time $10.00 charge to cover the cost of the
photo ID card. APSU Faculty who prefer to use the special access card
described above should contact Deborah
Fetch, Director of Library Services, 221-7617
