Books In Print includes current information on over
1.9 million books available for purchase from publishers, plus some
out-of-print listings. The
database also contains contact information for book publishers,
distributors, and wholesalers. The Austin Peay Library does NOT
own all of these books. (For books in the APSU Library, use Felix
Online Catalog)
Books In Print can help you to identify books you would like to
purchase, as well as books not available in APSU Library that you would
like to borrow from another library.
You may access Books In Print from anywhere with a valid APSU
ID.
How to Search Books in Print
To search for a subject:
Click in the Quick Search box, type in a word or phrase
describing your subject and click the Submit button.
To display results:
When your search succeeds, a list of items appears. To view
detailed information on the item, click on the title. Click the
yellow tabs at the top of the record to see other available information such
as reviews or alternative formats. To return to the list of results,
click Back to results at the top of the screen.
To Select Items:
On the Search Results page, select the items that you want
by clicking the box to the left of the title, then click the
blue/gray "Add to List" button.. From a full record
screen, click the blue/gray "Add to List" button. Choose
"Add to new list." Give your list a name. You may
password your list so only you have access to it.
To Print, Download, or E-mail:
Click the "Lists" icon at the very top of the
screen. Choose your list. From the "Actions for the entire
list" box, select the desired action.
To perform another search:
To return to the search screen, click the Search button at
the top of the page.
To find out if the Austin Peay Library owns a book:
Click the blue/gray Search My Library's Catalog button at the top of the results.
Up to 5 titles can be searched at one time by selecting them from the Search
Results page. If the Austin Peay Library owns the item,
information about the item is displayed, not including the call
number. To find the call number of a specific item, search Felix
Online Catalog.
Advanced Search:
Access Advanced Search by clicking the Search button at the
top of the page. Advanced searching allows you to restrict your
search to one or more specific fields, such as author, language, ISBN,
character, or series. You may also limit by date, price,
audience, format, status, or other information.
Choose the desired search index by from the Search On: drop
down box. Type the search term in the Search For: box.
To search for more than one term (for example, author and title),
repeat on the next line. Choose any limits you wish to use.
Click Search.
To exit:
To exit Books in Print, click Logout in the upper right
corner of any screen.
