Search CQ Researcher plus Archive

The CQ Researcher web site gives you acess to a database containing documents covering hundreds of "hot topic" issues such as abortion, child abuse, election reform, or civil liberties. If you need information on a contemporary issue, chances are CQ Researcher will have written a document that can help you in your research.

The CQ Researcher's hallmark is scrupulous objectivity and balance. Every 12,000-word report is written by an experienced journalist and features comments from experts, lawmakers and citizens on all sides of every issue. Numerous charts, graphs and sidebar articles -- plus a pro-con feature, a chronology, lengthy bibliographies and a list of contacts -- round out each report.

CQ Researcher plus Archive adds more than 3,000 reports, published between 1923 and 1990 to CQ Researcher Online (1991 - present).  Like CQ Researcher, each report in the Archive addresses the significance and legacy of the events and issues of its day. And so, Archive content adds a new historical dimension to the CQ Researcher site, extending its coverage beyond politics and current events to the fields of history, sociology, cultural studies, and other social sciences.

For easy access to related reports across time, Issue Tracker can be accessed from either the left navigation menu on the home page or within a CQ Researcher report in its related documents box.

CQ Researcher plus Archive is designed to provide multiple points of access to CQ Researcher reports. You may:

  • Select from the current or recent reports on the Home page.
  • Find your topic in the section titled "In the News," which highlights earlier reports on topics that are once again in the headlines.
  • Search by keyword, with the Quick Search on the Home page or using a number of delimiters in the Advanced Search page.
  • Browse by Topic, which is similar to using the index at the back of a book.
  • Browse by Date of publication, accessing reports from 1923 to the present.

CQ Researcher plus Archive is available from anywhere with a valid APSU ID.
