The Directory of Open Access Journals service covers free, full-text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. Their aim is to cover all subjects and languages. DOAJ is a growing collection. New titles meeting the selection criteria are added on an ongoing basis. Currently, there are 1285 journals in the directory and 325 journals are searchable on article level. There are over 60356 articles are included in the DOAJ service.

DOAJ can be accessed from anywhere on or off campus.

Using DOAJ

There are 3 methods for searching DOAJ:

  • Browse by Title

  • Browse by Subject

  • Search Articles

Most DOAJ journals have to be searched by browsing by journal title or subject. Some DOAJ journals are searchable at the article level. These journals can be searched using standard boolean "and", "or", "not" operators and searchable fields are selectable.
