Arts & Sciences I
Established in 1997, JSTOR's first collection
includes core journals in economics, history, political science, and
sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social
sciences. This collection also contains titles in ecology, mathematics,
and statistics. Overall, there are 119 titles in fifteen disciplines.
Arts & Sciences II
The Arts & Sciences II Collection is home to 124
titles. This collection adds depth to many disciplines introduced in
Arts & Sciences I, such as economics, history, and Asian studies. Arts &
Sciences II also offers core journals in several new disciplines, such
as archaeology, classics, and African, Latin American, Middle Eastern,
and Slavic studies.
Arts & Sciences III
Arts & Sciences III includes journals in languages
and literature, as well as essential titles in the fields of music, film
studies, folklore, performing arts, religion, and the history and study
of art and architecture. There are 150 titles in this collection.
Arts & Sciences IV
This collection has a strong focus on the professions
of business, education, and law, and also includes titles in psychology
and public policy and administration. There are 112 titles in this
collection.
Arts & Sciences V
This collection builds on previously introduced
disciplines, adding important literary reviews and state historical
journals. It will also widen the scope of core disciplines in the arts
and humanities, such as philosophy, history, classics, religion, art and
art history, and language and literature. When complete, the collection
will number at least 120 titles.
Arts & Sciences VI
This collection builds on previously introduced
disciplines, adding important literary reviews and state historical
journals. It will also widen the scope of core disciplines in the arts
and humanities, such as philosophy, history, classics, religion, art and
art history, and language and literature. When complete, the collection
will number at least 120 titles.
Arts & Sciences VII (Complement)
The Arts & Sciences Complement allows participants to
seamlessly add journals related to the core Arts & Sciences I, II, III,
and IV Collections. For the Arts & Sciences Complement, journals may be
focused in any of JSTOR's more than thirty arts, humanities, and social
sciences disciplines. JSTOR's aim is to introduce important titles not
included in earlier collections and to capture journals that cross
discipline boundaries. A minimum of 150 journals will be added over five
years, concluding by the end of 2008.
Arts & Sciences VIII
The Arts & Sciences VIII Collection broadens JSTOR's
coverage of core humanities disciplines including history, language &
literature, art & art history, and education. This collection also
includes a group of rare 19th and early 20th century American Art
periodicals digitized as part of a special project undertaken with the
Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frick Collection, and the Brooklyn
Museum of Art. This collection also includes journals in philosophy,
classical studies, and music.
Arts & Sciences IX
With a minimum of 150 titles available by the end of
2012, the Arts & Sciences IX Collection widens JSTOR’s coverage in
business and the social sciences. Journals from over 25 countries
provide outstanding international diversity, and rare materials bring
unique depth to the collection, with research covering archaeology,
anthropology, sociology, business, economics, population studies, and
political science.
Biological Sciences
The Biological Sciences Collection brings together
the 29 journals available in our existing Ecology & Botany Collection
(see Discipline-specific Collections below) with more than 100 titles
that span the sciences. The collection is particularly strong in ecology
and evolutionary biology, plant and animal sciences, paleontology, and
conservation.
