Project MUSE includes current issues of over 300 quality journal
titles from some 60 scholarly publishers, covering the fields of
literature and criticism, history, the visual and performing arts,
cultural studies, education, political science, gender studies,
economics, and many others. Links to back issues from JSTOR are
available for some titles. These direct links only work from
on-campus (access JSTOR from the Jump to Database box if off-campus)
How to Search Project Muse
1. TO SEARCH
Click on Search link to enter Project Must search page.
Enter your search term (s) in the Search for: box . Select
the fields in which you want to search your term (s). You
may select
the Boolean operators (AND, OR) or indicate Exact Match
desired. You may enter several search terms at a
time (e.g. rosencrantz and guildenstern).
You may search for phrases by entering multiple words on the same line
(e.g. iago merchant of venice) in the Basic Search mode, or
use the Advanced Search mode to search multiple concepts.
Limiting: In the Advanced Search mode, Project Muse
allows you to limit your search by document type, by date, or by journal
title or subject area.
Truncation: Project Muse allows you to search for words
with the same root at the same time by using an asterisk * (e.g. critic* finds
critics, critical, criticism and so on).
Click the <Search> button at the bottom of the screen to
perform your search.
Click the <View this Document> link to display the
article. From the displayed article screen, you can use the
[Access article in PDF] link if you want; you must have Adobe Acrobat
Reader downloaded on your computer to view PDF files.
2. TO PRINT OR SAVE YOUR SEARCH RESULTS
To Print: You may either print using Adobe
Acrobat Reader for PDF files, or use your browser's <Print>
button to print directly from Project Muse.
To Download: Insert a 3 1/2" disk in the
computer's A: drive. Choose Save As from the File menu, change the Save
In: to 3 1/2" floppy (A:) and change the Save as type: to text
(*.txt). Type a name for your file in File Name. Click Save. 3. TO
BROWSE You may browse specific articles in Project Muse
journal issues by clicking on the <Journals> link at the
top of the Project Muse search page. Then, click on the
specific journal you wish to browse. 4. HELP For more

located above the Search for: box.
