SciFinder Scholar is a research discovery tool that allows
college students and faculty to access a wide diversity of research from
many scientific disciplines, including biomedical sciences, chemistry,
engineering, material science, agricultural science, and more!
Created by CAS (a division of the American Chemical Society), it serves
as an electronic version of Chemical Abstracts providing
references from more than
9500 journals and
patents from over 50 patent-issuing organizations. It also
contains the world's largest collection of organic and inorganic
substance information.

SciFinder Scholar allows you to explore:
- scientific principles, how they evolve as new discoveries are
made, and how these principles transcend traditional scientific
disciplines
- a wealth of information for more than 26 million substances
- by chemical structures or biological sequences
- by substructures and reactions
- by research topic, author, company, substance name
Please see the
SciFinder Scholar How To Guides for tips and step-by step examples
for using a variety of features in SciFinder and the
Getting Started booklet (PDF) for more detailed information.
In addition,
SciFinder e-Seminars are available for more in-depth training and
SciFinder Strategies provide instructional strategies to make your
exploration with SciFinder even more productive.
Help is also available from within the SciFinder Scholar application by
clicking on
near
the top of the screen.
Note:
If you see an
error message stating "Login Failed: Too
many concurrent sessions for this login id."
it is because
only a certain
number of researchers at APSU can use SciFinder
Scholar at the same time. If you see this
message, all the seats are in use. As soon as
someone else logs off from SciFinder Scholar,
you'll be able to log in. Wait a bit and try
again.
Please remember to close
SciFinder Scholar as soon as you have finished
with your research.
