FirstSearch is a service providing access to many different
databases. As of July 2008, databases provided by
FirstSearch
were made available through the list of all
databases and appropriate
subject
pages. On campus users will not need a password to
access the databases; however, remote users will be prompted to
enter his or her A number before access is granted.
APSU purchases some
FirstSearch
databases on a subscription basis, providing access to unlimited
searches for an annual fee. Other databases are only
available on a "per-search" basis, meaning that Woodward Library
is charged each time a search is conducted. Searches are
purchased in groups of 500 at $1.00 per search.
