My Father’s War is based on the WWII memoir Ponder Anew by Lt. Herschel Ponder. When he arrives home after three years at war, Lt. Ponder must reintegrate into civilian life while struggling with PTSD and other unseen wounds. In addition to recreating her father’s memoirs, Carol Ponder and Robert Kiefer perform songs from the period and from Lt. Ponder’s beloved Appalachian mountains to create a beautiful setting for his story.
