Library Technology Committee
Description
The purpose of the Library Technology Committee is to review issues and concerns pertaining to the existing library information technology and recommend solutions for improvement.
Committee responsibilities include:
- Identifying and exploring new and emerging technologies and systems that can be implemented to enhance access, instruction, research assistance, and outreach activities of the library.
- Providing guidance and direction for implementation of new information technology projects and policies in all areas of library IT systems.
Meeting Frequency
The Library Technology Committee will meet quarterly.
Membership
The committee will comprise library staff and faculty members from multiple library units to ensure broad representation. The Electronic Resources Librarian, the Lead Librarian of Digital Services, one Library Computer Technician, and the Systems Librarian are ex officio members of the committee. The Systems Librarian also serves as the chair of the committee.
Non-ex officio committee members will serve a two- or three-year term, with the option of serving an additional term.
