Subject Librarians
Subject Librarians are specialized professionals assigned to specific colleges, departments, or fields of study to provide instruction, resources, and support. They serve as a crucial bridge between the Library's resources and the University community. Subject librarians promote academic success in a wide variety of ways, including:
- Teaching subject-specific information literacy sessions
- Serving as an embedded librarian within D2L
- Providing specialized one-on-one or group research consultations to support student and faculty research
- Creating and maintaining subject and course-specific research guides
- Collaborating with the instructor(s) of record to create research assignments
- Developing and enhancing collections that support the curriculum, including purchasing and weeding materials in their respective disciplines
