Scott Shumate

Coordinator of Digital Services

As the Coordinator of Digital Services, Scott oversees the development, management, and delivery of digital services and resources. He is responsible for making sure that the library effectively uses digital technologies to support teaching, learning, and research activities. He collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to enhance access to digital collections, streamline workflows, and promote digital literacy skills. He maintains and supports APSU's institutional repository (ASPIRE), the library website, video tutorials, and other library digital initiatives. Scott serves as the Subject Librarian to the Department of Mathematics; Department of Physics, Engineering, and Astronomy; Department of Chemistry; and the Department of Engineering Technology.

He performs all aspects of reference service in addition to providing information literacy sessions for University Success and discipline-specific courses.
