Library Accessibility
The Woodward Library strives to create an inclusive environment where all users, including those with disabilities or diverse needs, can access Library resources and services effectively.
Policy
As aligned with Austin Peay State University's institutional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Woodward Library complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, as amended, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 504.
Guidelines
The following guidelines ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can fully participate in and benefit from using the Woodward Library:
- Physical Accessibility: The Library's building, facilities, and resouraces will be physically accessible to individuals with disabilities.
- Digital Accessibility: The Library's website, online catalogs, databases, and digital collections will be accessible to individuals with disabilities.
- Assistive Technologies and Services: In collaboration with the Student Disability Resource Center, the Library will provide assistive technologies such as screen readers, magnifiers, accessible workstations, and adaptive software to support users with disabilities.
- Compliance: The Library with ensure regular assessment and improvement of accessibility measure, including ongoing evaluations of physical spaces, digital resources, and services to ensure they meet accessibility standards.
